Can Animal's running leggings stand up to our test?

by Reborn Runner
Thursday 23rd March 2017

If Animal can make a successful break into the world of running clothing they are onto a winner with their Zhanna ¾ leggings.  I highly recommend them for anyone who enjoys bright colours, although they do also offer a plainer version (Sienna Dawn), and feeling comfortable whilst exercising.  They have quickly become my ‘go to’ tights / leggings due to their fantastic level of comfort which is achieved by the super soft feel, and stylish looking yet functional seams.  The sizing is accurate with a great fit that is flattering around areas some of us ladies may feel conscious of.

Having tested them in a range of activities; running, yoga, walking, playing with my little one, circuit training and cycling, they have retained their comfort throughout with no rubbing or irritation (this even includes the labels which I usually cut out of clothing due to skin sensitivity and annoyance).

Other top features include: great for running at night as reflectiveness is combined with the print; useful and secure pocket which fits keys or something of a similar size; handy ponytail band attached to an accessible loop for runners with longer hair; secure non-slip waistband with the added bonus of the drawstring being one piece, no shoe lace style ends that can slip through and be a pain to get out again (an issue I’ve faced with other running tights); feel like they are made to endure some serious exercise with a reinforced crutch and inside leg panel, which I’m hoping will delay the inevitable wear and tear running tights are often exposed to; the moisture wicking is effective when working hard enough to sweat, in addition they dry very quickly and retain their comfort when running in the rain or splashing through muddy puddles.

I will definitely be looking out for further running clothing designs released by Animal and strongly recommend anyone in need of a new pair of leggings / tights gives these a whirl, if you’re anything like me then there’s always a ‘need’ for more running clothes ;-)

Find out more about the Animal Zhanna leggings here.
They are priced at £40
