January Jaunt
Glorious winter sunshine beat down on hundreds of charity runners who took to the streets in Plymouth & the Saltram House Estate. The annual 'January Jaunt' run attracted fundraising fanatics and seasoned fitness freaks alike.
Organised by the Plymouth Round Table 246, the 10k challenge raises vital cash for local causes such as Derriford Hospital-based children's charity Jeremiah's Journey. National charities including Guide Dogs for the Blind also got to benefit from this year's event, which will be followed in the spring by the 'Mad March Hare' run.

1st overall was John Cooper in a fantastic time of 37:45 and 1st female was Linda Lawrence in a stomping time of 41:48, a great time was had by all for this tricky and undulating 10k course.
Entries are already being taken for our Mad March Hare around the sam course on Sunday 20th March 2011 for more information visit www.plymouth.roundtable.co.uk

Edwinstowe Christmas 10K Trail Race
Askern RDC took first 5 places with an enormous win by Simon Newton in 36: 24, a good minute plus in front of his team mate. Totley AC’s Jenny Featherstone took first lady in a very good 42:30.
The race weather was perfect, a slight breeze and dry with temperatures at 1.5 – 3C and a slight overnight frost made the ground firm and not muddy.
The runners all enjoyed the first major race back after the mince pie and pudding break.

The next race by the organisers is the Sherwood Pines 5k and 10k trail races on the 17th July 2011 starting at a civilised 11:30 and two free fun runs fro the under 10’s and over 10’s.

Up & Running Hexhamshire Hobble 10.5
The organisers awoke to three inches of fresh snow and the dilemma of deciding whether to proceed with the staging of the event. They left it till very late to make a final decision and were pleased to have gone ahead.
Although numbers were down on previous years, it was still a good turnout. The conditions were horrendous, with very strong icy winds, poor visibility and not to mention the heavy going in the snow and icy conditions underfoot. Fortunately, even though there were numerous tumbles, there was only one retirement.
As these were difficult conditions, the times was significantly down on previous years, but the enjoyment and satisfaction levels very high.
