2* more sleeps to go until the start of my 7 day (168 hour) World Record attempt.
This week has been a real mixture of emotions, one minute I’m in totally panic, then fairly relaxed THEN I think about what I’m about to do and go back into panic mode again.
The training is now done, my body has been massaged and pulled in every direction in an effort to get it in the best working order for my WRA, so all I can do now is wait until midday on the 16th October to begin what is going to be one of the most difficult challenges I have done to date.
The record that I’m attempting to break currently stands at 395.25 miles (636.09km) IF all goes to plan I would hope to have broken this record at some stage on day 5. I have set myself a distance that I would like to cover during the World Record attempt and my marvellous support crew will be keeping me on track: 20 hours running, 2 hours sleeping and 2 hours for rest breaks. Damian Green has very kindly agreed to start the event off, which is marvellous. According to the rules as set out by the GWR it has to be started with a loud noise, I have borrowed my youngest daughters whistle, which will do the job perfectly (even if its green not PINK!)
Thank you to everyone who has already donated to my charity Help for Heroes, our Service men and Women need and deserve our support so please please make a donation. You can do this by going to www.justgiving.com/Mimi-Anderson
Many thanks for all your MARVELLOUS support and I very much look forward to seeing some of you between the 16th – 23rd October at the Ashford Designer Outlet – lots of jokes and stories required to keep me entertained!!
*The attempt start at midday, Saturday 16th October 2010 at the Ashford Designer Outlet
Good luck Mimi
All the best, "Wemmi"!
