The Running School® launches new online biomechanical analysis for recreational and elite runners.
Leading specialist sports training company The Running School®, have launched a new online biomechanical video analysis service for athletes. The new service will now enable thousands of athletes of all abilities and from a range of running and movement based sports from all over the world to have their running style and movement patterns analysed remotely via the internet.
Mike Antoniades, Founder and Director of The Running School® says: “We are excited to be launching this new video analysis service via the internet as part of the Running School programme. We believe our specialist running and multi-directional speed programmes will be of huge benefit to both recreational runners and many elite athletes around the world. The internet now enables athletes from all over the world to email in video clips of themselves on the treadmill or running outside, and we can analyse individual running style, both in terms of speed development, movement efficiency and reduction in risk of injury.”
The new specialist online service will enable everyone from the casual runner to elite athletes to use video analysis to actually compare individual running and movement biomechanics, movement patterns and running styles with other top elite runners. The service will analyse the whole of the body and the way that it moves to identify inefficiencies and weaknesses. Our experts will analyse your running style thoroughly and we will look to identify any biomechanical and running technique issues, or differences between the right and left part of the body. These are differences that may be the cause of past, current or future injury problems.
The service costs £35.00 per video clip and a written report will be returned within 48 hours. The new service will now enable thousands of runners who have not been taught how to run, to adapt their body and improve their technique and functional movement, improving enjoyment, performance and reducing the risk of common running injuries.
As Mike says: “We are now receiving video clips from runners all around the world and the response has been staggering! Most of us haven’t been taught the correct way to run, but have adopted a running style that our body has got used to, irrespective of whether it is efficient or not. Runners come in all shapes and sizes and all ages. I have spent years analysing people’s running technique and helping adults and children run more efficiently. The internet now gives us a global reach and enables us to work with athletes and improve their running and movement technique - where ever they are located.”
Paul Ryan, a recreational runner who is currently in training for the London Marathon next year comments: “I have been using the new remote video analysis service from the Running School for the past three months and the service has helped me improve my running technique hugely. I have been surprised how I have been able to improve the way I move so quickly and delighted that I now do not get any pain in my knees and hips after a long run. The new service has also improved my PB race time which of course is great news!”
