Whizz-Kidz is the only disabled children’s charity that strives to reach the 70,000 children across the UK in need of the correct mobility equipment, not currently provided by the NHS. With the correct equipment, training, life skills, social networking and work placements, disabled children and young people can lead more active, happier and independent childhoods at school, at home and at play.
The difference that independent mobility makes to a disabled child’s life is immeasurable. Without it, disabled children often become withdrawn and reliant on others. Every time we deliver a new piece of equipment, the transformation is immense and instant. Often, for the first time, these children can enjoy being themselves – children who just want to have fun! Whizz-Kidz gives kids the chance to be kids.
We are nearly 100% reliant on voluntary funding and we rely on runners to help us raise money to support disabled children across the UK. From 10k’s to marathons we have a race to suit everyone!
