The ultimate 10 mile endurance race
Introduction
The Paras’ 10 was first hosted by The Parachute Regiment in the early 90’s in Aldershot but when the Regiment moved to Colchester, the event lay dormant for some years. In 2008 Pegasus Company (aka ‘P Company’), The Parachute Regiment's own training & selection wing, revived the race to mark the first occasion since WWII that all four of The Parachute Regiment's Battalions have deployed on operations in the same theatre at the same time (Afghanistan).
All proceeds from the event are split equally between Help 4 Heroes and The Parachute Regiment Charities. A great deal of support was provided by these 2 charities and some of the money raised undoubtedly helped injured paratroopers, and the families of those who sadly did not return from the 2008 tour. 16 Air Assault Brigade deploys again this year and all 4 Parachute Regiment Battalions will again find themselves committed, some for the 3rd time.
Awareness for the Regiment's own Charity is needed now more than ever. More details can be found at the event’s website at www.paras10.com.

The Paras’ 10 is a 10 mile endurance race is based on one of the Paras’ toughest selection tests - the P Company 10 miler. The event is split into two distinct race categories which appeal to entirely different race audiences;
Running Race: runners tackling a straight 10 mile run in trainers over the P Company 10 miler course.
P Company & Team Challenge: Individuals & teams of 4 attempt to complete the same course carrying a 35 lb Bergen (rucksack) and wearing military boots in under 1hr 50 mins (the pass time on P Company). Serving Armed Forces personnel, especially from non-airborne units, are encouraged to put together teams of 4 to take on the challenge.
The event is staged annually at the Infantry Training Centre in Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire, and this year will take place on Sunday 12th September, 1 week before the Great North Run. This could provide a great final training run for those training for the World's Biggest Half Marathon.
