Product news: adidas are launching Boost - cushioning revolution that will change the industry! Run247's Paul Shanley takes a closer look

Does what it says on the Tin.

I like simple things, things that do what they say they do so I decided to look up boost in the dictionary, it says:

boost: To raise or lift by pushing up from behind or below.

This is what adidas have to say about it:

Boost

Revolutionary energy return, superior cushioning, optimal fit and temperature independence: adidas introduces the Energy Boost, a cushioning technology that provides the highest energy return in the running industry.

  • Boost your cushioning: energy capsules, which make up the footwear’s distinctive midsole, store and unleash energy more efficiently in every stride

  • Boost your conditions: holds its performance in almost any condition at unparalleled levels; tests revealed that, when taken from +40 to -20 degrees Celsius, BOOST™ foam is three times more temperature-resistant than standard EVA material

  • Boost your comfort: upper on the Energy Boost features adidas Techfit technology

I have been reading up on adidas before my trip and I want to share with you some key facts/notable milestones in the company:

In 1948, at the same time as renaming the company adidas, Adi also gave his shoes the unmistakable trademark of the Three Stripes.

The Olympics in Helsinki in 1952 saw the introduction of running shoes with removable spikes. Legendary runner Emil Zatopek raced the 5,000m, the 10,000m and the marathon in adidas shoes and won gold in all three distances.

Thanks to adidas for giving us the chance to see the shoe, only 7 days to go and counting...
