Race preview: Mt Edgcumbe 10 miler - January 29, 2012
It's time to remind ourselves of the Cornish Rebellion of 1497! Now there's a new border skirmish as we march across the disputed Kernow border in a running battle around the historic Mt Edgcumbe house; every one of you and your run times count and will help your chosen county to victory!
This is the decider and it's all to play for! Test yourself against the challenging coastal 10 mile terrain around the historic Mt Edgcumbe Country Park.
January 29th is the rematch – with a ten miler. Cornwall has it all to do having just lost the opening 10km round by less than a minute...
An 10 mile epic jaunt around the Rame Peninsula will require each county's runners to give their best as it's bound to be another close call. This multi-terrain race will take runners round to the lovely village of Cawsand for refreshment before heading back to the Country Park.
The event will have drink stations, distance markers, refreshments at the finish and prizes. The prize giving will be held in the Orangery in the grounds of Mt Edgcumbe and everything will be in walking distance from the Cremyll Ferry for easy return back to Plymouth.
There is ample car parking around the site and there will be a golf buggy shuttle running from the furthest car park.
The event is UKA registered.
Registration on the day from 8am. Start time 11-00am.
All pre-entered runners will receive a special county t-shirt (green for Devon and black for Cornwall) this is included in the entry price and we'd really appreciate it if you ran in it. If you must run in a club kit / vest then your number will tell us your county.
If you don't live in either Devon or Cornwall you can just simply pick a side that you fancy to win.
