Race preview: Brutal10 - March 17, 2012
Now into the second year, the Brutal 10 has established itself and its reputation as a very tough series of running events. The seven venues across the South East, each within 1hr of London, offer a range of running experiences, varying from the very muddy and waterlogged to the horribly hilly.

Next in the 2012 calendar is Windmill Hill near Frimley. A repeat of last years’ event, which was won by Adam Stirk 43:42 and Janine Roberts 54:58, this is classified as ‘undulating and hilly’ with a splash of canal jumping, just for fun. The event Race Director, Dave Rollins, British Army Orienteering coach, has marked up a route that offers something for everyone but with an emphasis on ‘fun racing for all abilities’.
Ample car parking, post race refreshments, chip timing and photography service are all laid on to make the event run smoothly.

Here’s what the runners say:
“Well done on getting the results up so quickly, all down to good organisation. Just happy to have finished. Paul was well chuffed with 1st Vet and an excellent prize. Many thanks to all involved in putting together the race.” C Moon
“In short: Tough overall with brutal sting in the tail! In full: Very well organised race over a challenging course. I really appreciated the on time start, well marked out course and encouragement from the friendly marshals. I'll definitely be back next year for another go.” Chris Oco
