The Together Trust calls for fun running Santas

by Press Release
Tuesday 6th December 2011

Race preview: Santa fun run, jog or walk – Heaton Park, Manchester, December 11, 2011

Cheadle-based charity, the Together Trust, is calling for participants to don a red suit and white beard and head down to Heaton Park on Sunday 11th December to represent the care and specialist education provider in the annual Santa Fun Run.

In total, around 2,000 Father Christmases of all shapes and sizes will be running, jogging or strolling around either the 5k or 10k route. For people who want to spread a bit of festive cheer for the Together Trust, it’s £20 to register and a minimum sponsorship of just £50. All representatives for the charity will also get a free Santa suit to make sure they look the part.

Money raised from the event will support a number of the Together Trust’s vital care, specialist education and community support projects for young people and vulnerable adults across Greater Manchester.

Helena Brailsford, fundraising manager for the Together Trust, commented: “The Santa Fun Run is a great opportunity for people to spread a bit of good will in the lead up to Christmas. The beauty of this event is that you don’t need to be a seasoned athlete, or even have to raise a large sum of money, to take part. Watching thousands of Father Christmases jog around Heaton Park is quite a spectacle too and everyone involved always has a brilliant time.”

For more information, contact the Together Trust’s fundraising team on 0161 283 4822.
