Race preview: Whole Foods Market Breakfast Run - Sunday April 1, 2012
Human Race, the organisers of Kingston Breakfast run, have announced that the 2012 event will have Whole Foods Market on board for the second year running. The event will take place at Kingston Upon Thames Market Square on Sunday the 1st of April. Entries are open at www.humanrace.co.uk.
The event, which sold out in 2011 and saw over 3,500 people take to the streets of Kingston covering distances of 8.2 miles or 16miles is expecting to reach similar numbers for 2012. According to Ginny Kopacz at Whole Foods Market, last year was such a success coming back was inevitable. “By supporting the Kingston Breakfast Run we are showing our commitment to supporting healthy, active lifestyles. When you step into one of our 5 London shops you will see Whole Foods Market are all about healthy eating and delicious nutrition, and we know how important it is for athletes to fuel their bodies with the healthiest foods.” Whole Foods Market hampers were presented to the top 5 female and male runners in last year’s event and the buzz around the WFM tent continued well into the afternoon.
The run is traditionally used as a warm up for the Virgin London Marathon; it is placed at the perfect time of year with the cool temperatures of spring. The run takes you through the historical Market Square and along the Thames down to Hampton Court offering a fast, flat course which creates ideal conditions for both beginners and PB seekers alike. With both runs ending in the town centre, the afternoon activities will be sorted, whether it’s shopping, sight-seeing, or just a relaxing meal you are after.
