Ryan Sandes wins in Nepal

Race report: RacingThePlanet Nepal - November 2011

RacingThePlanet: Nepal 2011 concluded on 26 November 2011 near Pokhara in the foothills of the Himalayas.

More than 200 competitors from 40 countries participated in the 6 stage event which covered 250km and a total elevation gain across the week of 9000m (29,500 feet). The course reached a maximum altitude of 3200m (10,500 feet)

South African Ryan Sandes and Canadian Stephanie Case won the overall and women's division, respectively.

Winning each stage of the event gave Ryan a winning margin of almost 2.5 hours. The women's race was more closely fought with each of the top three winning at least one stage.
