Race preview: The New Forest Festival of Running - March 10th & 11th 2012
The New Forest Festival of Running is a weekend of events on March 10th & 11th 2012 that are centred around enjoying the south’s most beautiful national park in a shared experience with likeminded others. As the first event in the evolving calendar, it was imperative to make sure that when the programme was set that most people could participate at a level that suited them OR use the festival as their target event to start 2012 season.
As many are familiar with certain distances Naked Strength are offering the most popular lengths of routes that even somebody completely new to running, or walking, could say, ‘I can do that!’ and for those whose feet have travelled many a mile in their trainers, they too have been accommodated for in plentiful supply.
From the Ultra 100 Km to the 50 Km, the Half Marathon to the 10 Km, coming all the way across the board to the Ladies Only 10 Km and the novice favourite – the Ladies only 5Km. All distances are wrapped around the central spine of the 20 Miler. This is the running experience that Naked Strength hope will be a firm favourite as a preparation event for those lucky enough to secure a place in the participation success of our era - The Virgin London Marathon - not only this year, but in many years to come also. At only 6 weeks from the big day when 35,000 will set off at Greenwich, this event is perfectly situated to give the entrant a clear indication of how the winter’s training has paid off.
