Life Healthcare Communications, in partnership with Pharma Times, raised over £2,000 for the DEC East Africa appeal in the first industry-wide pharma running event, covering a scenic route through Windsor Great Park on Sunday 6th November

Individual entrants or teams from across the pharmaceutical industry had a choice of running, jogging or walking the Windsor Great Park circuit, with 5 or 10 kilometre distances available.
Trophies were awarded to individual runner, Tish Jones, and to the team from Abbott UK, for the fastest 10k runs. Winners of the single 5k circuit also received trophies. All participants who successfully completed the course were rewarded with a medal, T-shirt and goodie-bag.
Nearly 70 people took part in the event, with teams representing companies Astellas, Ipsen, Menarini, Novartis, Roche, the ABPI and Pharma Times. Life staff who were not participating in the run, supported the event as organisers, race marshals and drinks distributors.
Life Managing Director, Juliet LaMarque commented: “A massive thank you to all those who took part in the run, and all those who helped out. Plus a big thanks to PT magazine who helped co-sponsor the event. It was a very successful day, enjoyed by all. Hopefully we can make it an annual pharma event - and raise even more next year!”
All proceeds raised from the run will go towards relieving the famine and drought hit areas in East Africa.
