Organisers of October’s RunLiverpool Marathon have announced the involvement of leading Liverpool logistics and distribution company Bibby Distribution with the event.
The Duke Street based business which is part of the Bibby Line Group will assist with the handling of over 9000 runner’s personal effects, transporting them from the Birkenhead Park starting line to the city’s Pier Head for collection at the finish.
In addition the company will ensure that the numerous water stations located along the course are stocked with the tens of thousands of bottles required by runners for refreshment during the long distance race.
Bibby Distribution’s Development Director, Paul Byrne commented: “It’s great to be able work in partnership with a high-profile international running event such as the RunLiverpool Marathon. The scale and complexity of October’s race has demanded professional and effective logistics support, and we are delighted that the event organisers have recognised that Bibby Distribution’s levels of service will meet their requirements.”
The RunLiverpool Marathon takes place in the city on October 9. To date more than 9000 runners are now signed up to the road race, which has drawn interest from all corners of the globe, and attracting runners from as far afield as US and Australia. An additional 30,000 visitors are also expected to visit or stay in the city during the event weekend.
Standard race entries are now closed however charity places are available until Sunday September 11.
