Haglöfs Open5 Adventure Race Series in 2011/12

Haglöfs, a major manufacturer of outstanding outdoor equipment, have teamed up with Open Adventure to present the Haglöfs Open5 Adventure Race Series in 2011/12. This series of adventure races provides an adventurous challenge for both novice and elite competitors alike in some of the most beautiful locations in the UK.

Run and Mountain Bike

The Haglöfs Open5 Adventure Races will take place in different locations around the UK and the aim of these five hour races is to visit as many points (controls) as you can on the map, some controls can only be collected by mountain bike and others by foot. With the controls having differing values the key to the Haglöfs Open5 series lies in having a combination of both fitness and navigation skills.

It’s all not quite as easy as it sounds as you have to carefully plan your route, to ensure you maximise the number of controls you get whilst being careful not to be late back otherwise you get penalties!

The Haglöfs Open5 Adventure Race series is open to solos and pairs over the age of 18 wanting to take part from first timers to elite athletes. If it’s your first race why not pair up with a more experienced racer and give it a go!
