Organisers of the new RunLiverpool Marathon which takes place in the Liverpool City Region this coming October, have announced that the
Hilton hotel Liverpool will be the official accommodation partner of the RunLiverpool Marathon 2011.
The landmark property, situated in the heart of the newly remodeled city centre will become ‘Marathon Headquarters’ - with a hub of activity taking place over the weekend of October 7th – 9th.
The RunLIverpool Event Team will use the hotel and its facilities to event manage the race as well as providing press facilities to national and international media.
Shuttle buses for participants taking part in the ‘Fab Four Mile’ a four-mile family warm-up jog which takes place in Sefton Park on the day before the Marathon, will also leave from the hotel on Saturday October 8.
The Hilton Liverpool is also the preferred supplier for RunLiverpool’s international travel partner and will accommodate runners from Europe and the United States during their stay in the city.
The Hilton Liverpool boasts 215 guest rooms which all offer views over the city over the city or Albert Dock, is on the doorstep of the Liverpool ONE -
with easy access to the vast array of shops, bars and restaurants in the multi-million pound shopping and lifestyle complex.
The hotel has several bars and restaurants, which includes The Exchange, which serves seasonal, imaginative cuisine in modern surroundings, with views over the landscaped Chavasse Park. Guests can also relax over drinks in the contemporary Pima bar, which features a spacious sun terrace.
For runners wishing to stay in peak physical condition, the hotel also offers a 24-hour Fitness Centre, which is equipped with the very latest cardio and resistance equipment and free weights.

Event organisers expect that over 30,000 visitors will stay in the Liverpool City Region during Marathon weekend, contributing to Liverpool’s Visitor Economy industry, which is comprised of hotels, restaurants, transport, attractions, shopping and nightlife.
The RunLiverpool Marathon is expected to contribute an estimated excess of £3,000,000 in economic impact to Liverpool and the City Region.
