Borrowdale Trail Running Weekend Friday 6th - Sunday 8th May, 2011
Venue: Hawse End Bay, near Keswick
Enjoy an inspirational trail running weekend in the Lake District. We’ll provide you with the unique opportunity to experience this incredible area. Based in a traditional stone built cottage at Hawse End Bay, on the shores of Derwentwater, the venue could not be more perfectly located. With immediate access onto an extensive network of trails it is also at the start location of the Borrowdale Trail Run two weeks later.

This will be a great introductory weekend, designed for runners of all levels of ability, whether you have little or no experience of running on the trails and are looking to get into off road running, or if your aiming to take your running to the next level. This is for anyone with an interest in trail running or just to enjoy an inspirational weekend with like minded people.
There is no need for any maps or wondering where the best trails are. Led by our highly experienced and qualified team the weekend will include guided trail runs incorporating not only the race routes but some of the many other spectacular trails in the area. We have extensive local knowledge and will maximise your time out on the trails. The guided runs will be split into relevant groups based on level of experience and fitness levels to ensure you are running with others of a similar ability, so no need to worry that you’ll not be fast enough, just sufficient fitness that you can run at least 5 miles.

The package includes two nights accommodation at Hawse End Cottage, wholesome meals and snacks, guided runs and coaching sessions, free entry into the Borrowdale Trail run, and a free technical t-shirt worth £20. There will also be informative classes on trail-running technique for the various types of terrain encountered, preparation for a trail running event, equipment selection, strength and conditioning work, sports nutrition and injury prevention. We'll also be making the most the lakeshore position by incorporating some open water swim sessions as an optional extra (or cold water therapy for post run recovery!)
This will provide the perfect opportunity to prepare for the event, or just enjoy a weekend of trail running in this beautiful environment. There are only 20 places available on the weekend so early booking is essential!
